In the cab
Mostly stock but a modified cubby box made by Francesco which houses aircraft style toggle switches (equipped with dustproof covers and leds)
to control:
- the lockers (unused, I converted the ARBs to a fully pneumatic setup since the beginning)
- the Sanden compressor
- the front winch, there's a selector to choose the remote control via the external plug on the front or the dedicated switch
- the rear worklights
- the HID driving beams
- the fog lights (not fitted)
- the aerial (not fitted)
- the CB amplifier (not fitted)
plus there's a plug for the mic and another plug for 12V????
In the tray I placed an alu box which houses:
- the pneumatic switches for the ARBs
- the rear winch switch
- the ARB switch for the ARB compressor
In front of the cubby box I placed the Maglite.
Behind, the ARB compressor sits on a custom fabricated stainless steel bracket, bolted to the floor using the existing seatbelts holes.
Under the bracket I ran the airlines so they're somewhat protected by the tools around.
Behind the seats there's the toolbag, a machete, a small saw, a strap, a plastic folder for maps,
and a tire repair kit.
The stock dash has been improved with an Hella gooseneck lamp on the passenger's side.
A custom made auxiliary center dash courtesy of Len
is being installed to house the CB radio, VDO gauges to monitor oil temperature, oil pressure and turbo boost, along with an array of extra toggle switches, because they're never enough...!
I removed the stock watch and fitted a VDO rev counter.
The stock vinyl seats are gone and replaced by much more comfortable cloth seats, off a brand new 110 Td5 (thanks Peter),
as payment for the
Saharaland network logo.
Seats are protected by custom covers by Africaland.
